Malawi super league side Azam Tigers coach Gerald Phiri has said his team will bring in new players when the player transfer window opens next month.
Phiri said the Kau Kau boys will go into the market once the player transfer window opens next month as they are looking to beef up their squad before the start of the 2016 Tnm Super League season second round.
The Tigers mentor was speaking after his side was knocked out of the Carlsberg cup following a 1-0 loss at the hands of Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu stadium.
“We will go into the market once the window opens in search for new strikers so as to beef up our striking force,” said Phiri in an interview.
He added that they are planning to bring in 3 or 2 players to beef up their squad because they are missing a lot of goal scoring chances.
This was also witnessed when they were playing against Nyasa Big Bullets in the Carlsberg Cup game where the Kau Kau boys missed a number of chances.
The 2015 Tnm Super League champions booked their place in the quarterfinals of the tournament through Mussa Manyenje’s lone goal in the dying minutes of the second half.
In the quarterfinals, the People’s Team will play the winner of the game between Moyale Barracks and Mafco fc.
