Infuriated by their employers failure to settle their gratuity for the past six years and the sell of the shop to other businessmen without their consent, workers at Sana Cash n Carry Shop at Ginnery Corner in Blantyre have closed the shop, Malawi24 can report.
According to one o the workers who anonymously spoke to this reporter, they agreed to take the bosses to task for selling the shop new owners without them knowing.
Malawi24 understands that the shop has now been sold to Food Kings.
But in the morning of Tuesday, the workers ganged up and locked the bosses in the shop to question them on the shop’s sell out as well as their gratuity.
”We closed the shop in anger. We want to be paid our gratuity which dates back to six years ago.”said one of the workers.
However the new owners asked the workers to bear with them for just two months- a request the workers have strongly denied.
At the moment, workers in similar shops at , Limbe, Victoria Avenue and Sana Kameza shop among others have also been sealed, according to reports that we have.
