The competition, which was in a cup format some years ago, will attract all the teams from the Southern Region. Speaking during the function, the company’s Sales and Marketing representative Jangale Chiosa said they decided to continue sponsoring the league because they are happy with how the administrators are running the competition.

“We are satisfied with how the league is being run by Southern Region District Netball Committee. We are expecting more from them as a company but we are very happy to continue sponsoring the league,” she said.

“We are very grateful to Rainbow Paints for their continued support towards developing the game of netball. However, we are of the view that high profile matches should start accumulating money. People should now start paying at the gates in order to watch netball matches,” he said.

On her part, General Secretary for Souther Region District Netball Committee Annie Hanjahanja Billie hailed Rainbow Paints for coming back to sponsor the league.

“We are very excited to see them coming back. We have been with them for the past three years and now this is the fourth year running.”

“They have come back because they appreciate how our committee has been running the league ever since they joined us. We will continue working hard in order to safe guard this sponsorship. As a committee, we will sit down and plan on how best we can motivate teams as well as players by coming up with different types of activities,” she explained.

On Saenda’s sentiments, Hanjahanja Billie said: “We have already notified Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) to start earning something from the gates and we are just waiting for the feedback,” she said. Tigresses and Kukoma Diamonds will be the teams to watch once again.
