43 year-old beast arrested for raping 11 year old

Police in Nkhotakota district are keeping in custody a Kabaza operator for twice raping an 11 year-old girl.

The rapist, 43 year-old Katemba Banda, sexually abused the girl who was selling fried groundnuts at Nkhotakota Trading Centre.

According to Nkhotakota Police spokesperson Williams Kaponda, the suspect took groundnuts worth K500 from the victim and when time came for the suspect to pay, he asked the victim to accompany him to his house to get the money.

The victim agreed and jumped on the wicked man’s bicycle. But instead of going to his house, the lowlife took the girl to a river where he forced himself on her.

Later, the rapist took the victim to a cassava garden where he raped her again.

“Then the victim escaped from the hands of the suspect as he was trying to have carnal knowledge with her for the third time,” Kaponda said.

Two men who were passing by saw the two and after the victim told them what had happened, they captured the suspect at the scene.

He was taken to Police while the victim was sent to Nkhotakota District Hospital where a medical examination confirmed that she had been defiled.

The rapist comes from Jalo village, Traditional Authority Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota.
