Police in Kasungu have arrested a 30 year-old man for stealing money amounting to K29 Million from Luchenza in Thyolo district Admarc.
Deputy public relations officer for Kasungu police Harry Namwanza confirmed the development saying the suspect left Thyolo and was staying in Kasungu district.
Namwanza said the suspect who is identified as Fridness Potani was among robbers who stole K29 million at Luchenza Admarc.
According to Namwanza, after stealing from Luchenza Admarc, Potani and his fellow thugs also stole K99,000 from a businessperson in the area.
“The suspects had also a spirit of robbing residents in their communities and when they became aware that the police were searching for them they decided to run away,” he explained.
The police arrested Potani in Kamuno village in the area of Traditional Authority Chikulamatambe in Kasungu district after a tipoff from well-wishers.
The police have since asked people in the country to keep on assisting the law enforcers whenever they are suspecting any person in their areas.
