The Malawi national football team has moved to position 106 just a step up from previous rankings in the ratings released by the world football governing body, FIFA.

This could be a boost for the Flames who seat on position four with two points behind of league leaders Zimbabwe who have eight points and Guinea who have moved to second ahead of Swaziland whoe they have similar points with in Group L of the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2017 qualifiers.
They play Zimbabwe away before hosting Swaziland in their next competition games.
In their previous game, they lost 1-2 at home to a resilient Guinea.
Algeria are the best ranked side in Africa on world ranking. They are placed on position 33 while Côte d’Ivoire are on position 34.
In Africa, Algeria lead the continent followed by Côte d’Ivoire on second and Ghana on third.
