Renowned TV News anchor, Mgeme Kalirani is the latest media personality to make his way to the State House, as Press Secretary, the Malawi government has confirmed.

Kalirani replaces Gerald Viola who was axed after a series of scandals at the state house.

Other media personalities that have fallen victim holding the same post include Fredreick Ndala and Timpunza Mwansambo who all got sacked after sublime scandals which haunted the image of President Peter Mutharika, according to inside reports.

According to Chief Secretary to Government, George Mkondiwa newly appointed Director of Communications, Dr. Bright Molande replaces Bright Malopa in that post.

”Kalirani will be seconded from the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) while Molande has been seconded from the Ministry of Information, Communications Technology and Civic Education” a statement from government reads in part.

He has been the editor for both radio and TV at state owned Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and has been the key figure behind the news at the media house.
