Fresh revelations show that there has been more looting involving top officials at the ministry of foreign affairs.

According to a whistle-blower, officials at the ministry stole $150,000 (K101 million) by sending it to Malawi Embassy in Dubai.

The ministry claimed that the money was meant for paying rentals but the Malawi Consular at the Dubai Consulate refused to use the money.

MoneyMinistry officials told her to send the money to Egypt but she gave them a cold shoulder and insisted on sending it back to Malawi.

“I have the hope that soon the PS for Foreign Affairs will also explain about the $150,000 which was sent to Dubai Consulate which the Consular refused it and I know that Government does not foot bills for consular offices but it was a trick! “The Consular literally told the Foreign Affairs Ministry that she doesn’t need Malawian monies and was advised to send it to Egypt but she again refused and said will send it back to Malawi and by that time the PS and The Minister had already arranged to go and see the Money,” wrote a well-known whistle-blower, Julius Mithi.

This comes at a time when ministry of foreign affairs officials are accused of stealing K293 million using Malawian embassies across the world.
