The newly formed Association of Catholic Journalists for the Southern Chapter (ACJSC) has vowed to promote media professionalism in the country.
Speaking to Malawi24 during election of new office bearers in Blantyre, ACJSC spokesperson Chikondi Phikiso said the association will help journalists to work in line with ethics that guide the media.
“Apart from helping the Catholic Church in evangelization, the association will help fellow journalists to work professionally, following reports that most of us are biased in reporting,” said Phikiso.
Phikiso further urged members of the association to help the Catholic Church in spreading the gospel to the world through mass media channels.
The association has been formed under Chikwawa diocese and Blantyre archdiocese as one way of bringing Catholic journalists from the two dioceses together.
