The Malawi government has tabled 11 land related bills to be scrutinized when parliament meets from next week at the National Assembly in Lilongwe.
The 11 include land bill which was rejected during Joyce Banda’s reign, acquisition custom land bill and registered land bill.
Leader of the house, Francis Kasaila, said the meeting will also tackle eight other bills from the previous meeting and aside some other new bills.
“The meeting is expected to carry over previous bills including new bills like Communications bill and Credit reference bill,” said Kasaila.
The land acquisition bill was approved by parliament in 2013 but former President Joyce Banda refused to endorse it after concerns were raised on some of its clauses.
