…expected to come clean on movement
Malawians will be all ears tomorrow for the address by Vice President Saulos Chilima, who for a month now has been named in a fast growing movement for leadership change in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
A faction has emerged in the DPP pushing Chilima to contest against his boss President Peter Mutharika at the party’s convention slated for a yet to be announced date this month.
Exponents of these calls argue that Mutharika who is 77 years old is rather too old to man the affairs of not just the party but also the nation.
They feel it is time for Mutharika to be replaced by rather a younger leader – whom they all squared for Chilima.
But ever since this storm was brought out by former first lady Callista Mutharika, Chilima has not made consummate responses.
In fact, one of the leaders in the movement, fallen Minister Patricia Kaliati last week admitted, they were yet to meet him to ask him to contest.
It is only his recent public statements on ‘an end of a band’ that have led the trending implications, he is up for the challenge.
Mutharika has however said he is ready to face anyone that comes his way.
Chilima will address the nation tomorrow, according to a press statement from his office.
The document says the Vice President aims at commenting on recent political developments.
He heads to the microphone tomorrow not just with the question “Are you ready for the challenge against Mutharika?”, but also whether he has been behind the movement rallying to his name for the DPP torchbearer post for next year’s elections.
At least to see a change in Malawi…….strong young leader

I have been watching how chirima was being humiliated By the current government so I would rather be on his side.I have decided to vote for him otherwise if he won’t stand, no vote for anyone.

the search of a perfect leader in a human being is an insane sojourn,colonialism was condemned and fought,Dr H.Banda Banda was condemned and fought,Dr Muluzi,DPP under the late Bingu,etc upto date it appears none proves to meet our expectations and the search keeps on.As our planet keeps moving the mystery in our life changes with the phases our planet moves into.Tomorrow’s issues will be greatly different to the misery of today.The greatest leader we can have will be the one who can predict what tomorrow holds so as to avert it in advance and unfortunately none in the fresh is capable of that.The belief in a human Messiah is a fallacy and our beloved next leader on May 2019 will be our greatest enemy a few years later after that.Nonetheless let us go vote just to manta in the system but I refuse to corrupt pple’s minds n lure them into believing that salvation is around the corner.Whoever wants a better life must be prepared to pay the price which is hardwork,sweart n tears other than this then lest we forget.I believe my life isn’t where I want it because of myself not the govt bcoz I know pple/friends whose life was worse than mine but they made it big In such conditions

Thats what the whole Nation has been waiting for & what we don’t want to hear is that this is my father then I will support him ayi KOMA yes I have heard the cries of my fellow countrymen & women so I will just do ad the masses ate asking me to stand. But free ADVICE from tomorrow onwards the road will be rocky but stand up & persevere, be strong & trust in Lord, if The Throne is yours The Lord will make sure that you will inherit it just like King David.
