Simtech which is an organisation that started last year has removed the unemployment yoke that was on the youths in Mzuzu by imparting them with computer repairing and computer knowledge courses.
Speaking to Malawi24 during the certificate awarding ceremony at Mzuzu Youth centre hall in Mzuzu, the director of Simtech Dan Moffat Matope said Simtech wants to bring technology to every corner of Malawi.
“Even though we registered last year, but we have been able to reach Mangochi, Balaka, Chikwawa and many other districts. We provide computer repairing and computer knowledge courses to everyone at a very fair price after realizing that it is not all of us who can be selected to Unima or afford private tertiary education.”
“I therefore encourage all NGO, government and individuals to believe in these young people that have been trained by Simtech because Simtech provides real knowledge computer repairing and computer knowledge and they will never disappoint them,” said Matope.
Matope further advised youths to believe in themselves and make use of opportunities like Simtech to make a living on their own as entrepreneurs.
Acting as the guest of owner, Vitumbiko Zgambo who owns Muvi Agri-Enterprises, advised young people especially girls like her to be creative in their lives and believe in themselves that they can do something that everyone can do.
One of the people that received training Prisca Mvula, gave thanks to Simtech for the training that will be useful for the rest of her life.
“I want to thank Simtech a lot because of the training that they have helped us with, at an unbelievably small amount of money. I would like to ask them to go further in Malawi and help more youths.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to tell young people that they should not have fear, rather, they should know that everything is possible if there is commitment,” said the happily trained Prisca.
Among other attendants was Melvin Nyumayo who is the chairperson for Mzuzu Youth Association.
He advised the youth to use the opportunities when they hear that Simtech will be training people because this is one of the ways that unemployment, which is one of the critical worries among the youths in Malawi, can be beaten.
When trained by Simtech, participants walk away with a certificate of attendance and starter pack that can help them start their computer repairing shops. The starter pack include operating system, application software, digital multimeter, a set of screw drivers and many other equipment.
As promised that it will reach every corner of Malawi, Simtech will start computer repairing and computer knowledge courses at Karonga Museum on 23rd May 2016. Simtech has encouraged people to attend and they will not regret.
