More police officers to lose their jobs as Pastor Ziba sets to outsmart Bushiri

Police officers in the Southern Region are having a headache following an arrangement made by Fountain of Victory and Illumination Assembly’s founding pastor, Apostle Joseph Ziba that they hire the police brass band in a march that Ziba’s church is set to hold in Blantyre.

Posters circulated by the Church are claiming that from Thursday 15 October to Sunday 18th October, the Church will be celebrating its third anniversary.

The anniversary however has sought to bring to ridicule Bushiri’s ‘triumphant entry’ into Mzuzu that saw three police top bosses lose their positions in the Northern region to assume lesser duties after Bushiri was accorded security like he was the head of state.

Information from Ziba’s celebration indicates that while Bushiri’s pomp on the ground was brought about only by the Police, they will have the company of the Police and Malawi army in a parade that will start from their shrine at Kudya and proceed to the city of Blantyre where they will later troop into the Highway to bring the Commercial capital to a standstill.

A source of the organising committee who spoke on condition of anonymity as he is not mandated to speak for the congregation told Malawi24 that the parade will be a scene that Blantyre has never seen.

“It is said that Mutharika brought the city to a standstill when he delivered his nomination forms in May, 2014 but I can tell you that what Blantyre saw that time was nothing,” the source said.

“If people of the world can bring that much group then we the children of God will do something more than that, we will control the city both in spirit and physically,” he said.

Asked if the aim was to put Bushiri to shame, he dismissed it and said they were not in any competition with the flamboyant pastor who charged people K10,000 to meet with him when he appeared in the country. The latter’s ministry has lately been hit by a blow after international media picked up on his walk-in-the-air stunt and called it trash.

Meanwhile, a source within Police has confided that officers are watching with keen interest how government will react to Ziba getting the police to be on his entourage following the chop that officers in the North faced for offering Bushiri services.

“It will be strange if nobody is moved after this but I can tell you that we learnt a lesson from the events in the North.”
