Dedza wins over Moyale Barracks

Dedza Young Soccer saints have collected their first three away points in the second round of Malawi’s elite league after beating Moyale Barracks 1 nil at Mzuzu stadium on Sunday.

Dedza Young Soccer were coming from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Mzuni yesterday where as their opponents were coming from a 1 nil defeat to Big Bullets in the Standard bank cup Quarterfinals.

Dedza Young Soccer dominated the entire first half as they made Moyale to dance to the Dedza boys tune at Mzuzu stadium this afternoon.

On the 30th minute Gladwel Phiri put Dedza Young Soccer Saints a head as he scored a beauty pas the Moyale Barracks keeper Juma Chikwenga.

After that goal Moyale Barracks started pressing for an equalizer but Dedza Young Soccer defenders stood firm as the did not allow the soldiers to put the ball in the back of the net and the first half ended 1-0 in favor of Dedza Young Soccer.

Come second half Moyale Barracks started the  match on a higher note and they pressurized the Dedza defense but still failed to snatch an equalizer to put them back in the game.

It was on the 3rd minute of the half when Moyale Barracks were awarded for a penalty foul in the box and  Crispin Fukizi stepped up for the challenge but he missed the spot kick.

After the penalty miss, Dedza Young Soccer  started again dominating showing  some excellent passing game that completely gave pressure on the soldiers of Kaning’ina who were searching for an equalizer.

Moyale Barracks striker Deus Nkutu had a couple of chances in the second half but Dedza Young Soccer goaltender was too good to concede a goal.

In the dying minutes of the game Moyale Barracks pressurized the young soccer saints from Dedza as they were in search of a goal that could have helped the teams to share the spoils, but the match ended 1-0.

Dedza Young Soccer and they have managed to corrected three points from their two away assignment in the northern region.
