Former Atletico Madrid reserve player Robin Ngalande is set to join Maritzburg United but details of the deal are yet to be revealed to the public.

Just months after being released by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Bidvest Wits, the 24-year-old can afford another smile as it has emerged that he is set to return to the Rainbow nation after attracting interest from Maritzburg United.

According to information sourced by Malawi24, Ngalande, who was playing for Masters Security in the Super League, will sign an outright contract with the South African side this week in readiness for the 2017/18 ABSA Premiership season.

Before being released by Wits, the Flames international was signed by Ajax Capetown in 204 and was later re-signed for the current PSL defending champions.

However, he failed to impress again and was loaned out to Platinum Stars in the 2015/16 season but was told that was not part of Gavin Hunt’s plans and he was released from his contract.

After signing for Masters Security, Ngalande has upped his game as he has scored four goals for the rookies where he was made the captain in the on-going season.

If his move materialises, it will take the number of Malawian players plying their trade in South Africa to five, with Limbikani Mzava, Robert Ng’ambi, Gerald Phiri Jnr, Atusaye Nyondo and Gabadinho Mhango all playing for PSL sides.
