National Youth Football Association (NYFA) committee has officially elected Chimango Munthali as its new Chairperson.
Munthali, who has replaced Mike Mabvuto Lungu, went unopposed during NYFA’ Elective Annual General Meeting in Mzuzu on Friday night.
The committee voted Oswald Lungu as the vice chairman with 10 votes out of the 18, with 8 votes null and void.
Chris Tukula, who was vying for the position of treasurer, was disqualified for failling to meet one of the requirements that would have made him eligible to contest for the position.
According to NYFA’ statuses, for one to contest for an executive position, he/she must atleast spend minimum of four continuous years in youth football.
On the position of General Secretary, Thoko Chimbali got 11 votes, with Dan Makiyi, who went unopposed, as his Vice General Secretary.
The committee then voted Tiyenkhu Chavura as its treasurer, with McCloud Munthali and Wasauka Nyirenda all voted in as committee members.
Munthali was nominated for the position by Missi who has been at the helm of NYFA for quite some time.
Missi will be remembered for transforming the youth football by bringing in FMB as the sponsors for the Under 20 national league.
