Marketers in the country will convene in Mangochi in September to discuss the impact of social media and other digital platforms on their work.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Malawi chapter says the annual Marketers Conference will be held from 8th to 11th September at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi where marketers will look at ways of taking advantage of popular digital platforms.
Making the announcement, CIM Malawi President, Stanley Mkwamba said the annual conference which is being held for the fifth year running comes under the theme; Digital Marketing: Is Malawi Ready?.
Mkwamba said the world has witnessed the spontaneous emergence of digital marketing which is fast changing the way brands and businesses utilize technology hence the conference’s objective to zero-in on the opportunities presented by the new medium.
“Digital marketing is becoming more prevalent, as digital platforms are increasingly incorporated into marketing plans as we now spend more and more time on mobile and digital devices. The conference shall reflect on opportunities that have been availed by digital marketing and options of harnessing this emerging medium for the benefit of respective brands,” said Mkwamba.
He added that the conference theme shall be approached through an exciting package of experiential presentations, a panel discussion, and exhibitions.
The CIM president also announced that the marketers’ conference shall coincide with the 2016 annual general conference on Saturday, 11 September.
During the AGM, CIM Malawi members shall elect new office bearers. He encouraged marketers to book for their place at the conference promising a better and bigger indaba than the previous ones.
Other sideline and fun activities include a boat ride, party at Cape Maclear plus a corporate social responsibility event on a yet to be announced project.
