FHL donates equipment to community colleges

The Financial Holdings Limited (FHL) has donated information communication technology equipment to the community technical colleges worth K19.2 million.

During the donation ceremony Tuesday at Sanjika palace in Blantyre, Financial Holdings Limited chief executive officer Thomson Mpinganjira said his organisation believes in contributing to make Malawi a good environment to live in.

“Community technical colleges are a good building ground towards a prosperous Malawi, and we are ready to provide support,” Mpinganjira said.

On his part, Malawi leader Arthur Peter Mutharika commended Financial Holdings Limited for the well-targeted donation and described it as a timely gift.

“This is a timely donation, as my government prioritises ICT in this digital age, these colleges started small but we are creating jobs and skills and I urge other players in the private sector to support the government,” Mutharika explained.

The equipment donated were 42 computers, 44 GPSr, 2 heavy duty photocopier machines, 2 laminating paper machines, projectors, 2 laptops, and 2 printers all worth over 19 million kwacha.

According to FHL, the equipment will be distributed at Chilobwe and Namilonga community technical colleges, or the ministry of labour and manpower development can relocate the distribution.
