A 22 year-old man has been found dead after committing suicide by hanging himself from a tree at Bvumbwe in Thyolo.
Limbe Police Station Assistant Deputy Public Relations Officer Widson Nhlane confirmed the incident to malawi24 and identified the deceased as Stanley Makumbi.
According to Nhlane, the deceased was staying with his sister at chide Village but he was a drunkard and usually came home drunk.
On Tuesday, Makumbi was found hanging from the tree and the matter was reported to police.
The body was taken to Bvumbwe Health Centre where a post-mortem showed that Makumbi died due to suffocation.
The police are still investigating the issue to find the reason why the deceased committed suicide.
Meanwhile the security providers are appealing to people in the country to seek guidance and counselling whenever they have problems.
Let us be wise in our doings.suicide is a stif punishment to our lord as fa as bible z concerd.
