Thugs kill Lilongwe woman

Thugs in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe have killed a business lady who owned a shop in Area 36 in the city, police say.

Lilongwe police spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula said the woman was murdered in her shop.

Blood.“At around 17:00 hours we received a report that a woman has been killed in her shop so we rushed to the crime scene,” said Dandaula.

At the shop, the police noted that the deceased had serious head injuries which suggested that she had been beaten with a metal object.

Post-mortem results from Kamuzu Central Hospital revealed that the woman died due to the head injuries.

The police believe the thugs stole cash amounting to K9,000 from the shop but the motive of killing the lady is yet to be known.

Meanwhile the law enforcers are investigating the issue and are appealing to Malawians to report to police if they know any person involved in the murder.
