Bullets run riot in Presidential Cup showdown

Nyasa Big Bullets have advanced to the second round of the Presidential Cup after beating Sabble Farming 5-1 today at Kamuzu stadium.

Chiukepo Msowoya and Henry Kabichi put Bullets 2-0 ahead in the first half the home team was pressing the panic button for the visitors with some excellent passing and attacking football.

Despite being a team coming from a lower league, Sabble Farming proved too much for the People’s Team as time and time again they were exchanging good passes but their strikers were too shy to put the ball in the back of the net.

Mike Mkwate was a marvel to watch on the flanks for the rest of the first half, but  Chiukepo Msowoya and Manyenje who were playing upfront failed to turn the crosses in and the first half ended 2-0 in favour of Nyasa Big Bullets.

After the break, Bullets coach Franco Ndawa took off Mussa Manyenje, Chiukepo Msowoya, Mike Mkwate and replaced them with Diverson Mlozi, Muhammad Sulumba and Kondwani Kumwenda.

Sulumba then increased Nyasa Big Bullets’ lead after he scored a beauty. But shortly after Sulumba’s goal, Sabble Farming pulled a goal back and it was 3-1 in favour of Bullets.

After the one hour mark Henry Kabichi scored Big Bullets’ fourth before Sulumba made it 5-1 with his second goal of the match.

After the final whistle, Bullets coach Franco Ndawa said he was happy with the result.
