Police nab 52 people in Limbe

Police in Limbe, Blantyre have netted 52 people for committing various offences in the city.

According to the assistant Public Relations Officer for Limbe Police station Widson Nhlane, the suspects were arrested on Thursday during a sweeping exercise the law enforcers conducted in the town.

”We have arrested 52 suspects for various offences after we conducted a sweeping exercise on 10th march this year,” said Nhlane.

Arrested.He added that the suspects have already been charged with offences such as theft, being found in possession of property suspected to have been stolen, illegal vending, and rogue and vagabond.

Nhlane further said that all the suspects will appear before court soon after the police have finished their investigations.

”The suspects will appear before court soon after we have finished investigations and some of the suspects were already on our wanted list,” said.

Police have since thanked the general public for tipping them about the people suspected to be criminals in their various communities.
