Local soccer fans have questioned Super League of Malawi (Sulom) and the league’s sponsors over the end of the season awards given to different individuals and teams that performed well in the 2015 season.
Pouring out their views on Malawi24’s Facebook page post, the football fans showed their dissatisfaction with some individuals who received awards.
According to the football fans, they have seen that other individuals such as Chiukepo Msowoya, who won ‘Best Player’ award, did not deserve the awards they received.
Emmanuel Pande said: “something went wrong here, Kangunje or Fodya would have taken the award not Chiukepo.” Another football fan Gibys Lilanga said: “the award was for Fodya due to that he won many ‘Man of the Match’ awards than others.”
At the awards ceremony, Msowoya also went away with top goal scorer award alongside Red Lions forward, Innocent Bokosi.
The two strikers bagged 14 goals each last season.
I dnt undastand y u fans r complaining,chiukepo missd alot of games due 2 his trials..and in most of those games the team had draws..when he was available the team won many games with him scoring and providing assists….is that not gud enough 2 win the award? cum on guys think well and give thanks 4 once
