At a time when water is needed the most due to the hot weather in Malawi, the Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) has warned its customers of massive disconnection campaign to users who have outstanding bills.
LWB says from Monday 5 October it will start a grand disconnection of all unpaid accounts with more than 30 days of outstanding water bills.
The board has notified its customers that all disconnected accounts shall only be reconnected upon full settlement of the bill plus a re-connection fee of MK5,000.00.
“We will start a grand disconnection of all unpaid accounts with more than 30 days outstanding bills”, said the board through its website.
The board has since urged its customers to settle their bills to avoid inconveniences and stand a chance to use free water up to 40 Cubic meter or 200 drums of 200 litres each.
