….Azam Tigers still win-less in second round

It was another interesting week in Malawi’s top flight league as four super teams were battling out for the vital maximum points on Saturday and Sunday.

This week the Super League of Malawi Sulom released only two fixtures in the elite league as Eight Super League teams were battling out in the quarter finals of the standard bank knockout cup.

Super League of Malawi invited Azam Tigers and Mzuni fc to Nchalo in Chikhwawa to battle it at for the vital points at Kalulu stadium, a win to Azam Tigers could have helped them to move to position 3 on the table where as a win could have move Mzuni to position 13 on the log table.

Week 17 of super league action has proved that Azam Tigers are still lacking the killer punch that helped them to finish the first round on second place, and they are still winless in 4 super league outing after they again registered another goalless draw against the students of Mzuzu University.

Come Sunday, it was an all solders affair as Mafco fc was taking on their fellow Malawi Defense Force team Airborne Rangers at Chitowe ground in Nkhotakota.

But it was Mafco fc who came out as victorious after they beat Airborne Rangers by two goals to one on Sunday afternoon.

Only three goals have been scored in week 17 of the Super League action and the tally of goals in the 2015 super league season is now at 293 goals.
