The campaign season has reached the climax with political parties throwing varying artistic means in a bid to entice voters.
In a latest development, Mrs Mary Chilima has drummed up support for the United Transformation Movement (UTM ) through a song entitled Tikupasani. In this piece of art, she responds to veteran rapper Phyzix who challenges politicians in his song called Mutipasa?
In Mutipasa which basically means, are you going to deliver? Phyzix asks aspiring leaders if they are going to meet people’s needs once voted into power. He cites, job and business opportunities, and security, among areas which needs intervention.
In response, Mrs Chilima whose husband is also in the race to state house, says they will deliver to people’s satisfaction. As such, people should trust UTM with power.
In her rapping, Chilima also responds to those who have been calling for the vice president’s resignation on the grounds that he opposes the ruling party. She says, his resignation could be detrimental to the country as there will be nobody to expose the rampant corruption at capital hill.
The song mainly dwells on what is enshrined in UTM’ s manifesto. It has received positive feedback from supporters of the party while those from the opposing side think differently.
Meanwhile visuals for Mary’s song are trending on social media platform.
