Thugs masquerading as customers wounded a bar owner and stole from his pub in Mzimba on Friday.
The incident occurred at Chambo trading Centre at Ekwendeni and the victim has been identified as Kennedy Munthali.
According to Police public relations officer for Mzuzu Martin Bwanali, the pub owner wanted to close the bar around 2am but two customers had not finished their beers.
The bar owner gave a chance to the two customers to finish their bottles.
But the two attacked him and went away with cellphones, DVD player, amplifier and unknown sum of money.
The bar owner was left wounded and he has been admitted at Ekwendeni Mission Hospital in Mzimba district.
Police have since arrested one suspect identified as Shadreck Ngulube, 32, of Aaron Soko Village in Traditional Authority Mtwalo in Mzimba.
Efforts to arrest his accomplice are at an advanced stage.
