Prophet Shepherd Bushiri

The newly formed Democratic People’s Congress (Depeco) party in Malawi has disclosed that it wants South Africa based Prophet Shepherd Bushiri to join the party.

Speaking during a presser in Lilongwe on Sunday, Depeco acting president Chris Daza disclosed to have approached Bushiri to join the party.

Daza added that Bushiri is his friend and spiritual father hence will use that relationship to convince him to join the party.

“As interim president I have spoken to him like I have spoken to many other possible donors and funders, so yeah I have spoken to him, he is an individual, he is a Malawian, he can belong to any party” said Daza.

He further urged Malawians to support Depeco arguing it is “a new broom that is to sweep well”.

Meanwhile, the party plans to have a convention in September to elect a president to represent it in 2019 general elections in the country.
