Students at Mzuzu University (Mzuni) say they will conduct peaceful demonstrations aimed at forcing President Peter Mutharika who is also the chancellor of the university to address challenges that led to the closure of the institution .
The statement was brought forward by the president of the institution’s students union Wazamazama Katatu.
He said they have decided to organise the demonstrations since the institution’s officials have remained silent on the matter.
“We have decided to conduct demonstrations so that the president should act on the issue because we are just the victims of circumstances, ” he explained.
Katatu also expressed shock over the current situation since everyone has just remained silent.
Mzuzu University was closed last week following a strike by both academic and non-academic members of staff at the institution who are demanding a pay increase.

Its not the current President’s fault , Mzuni has been operational before his presidency, the entity behind the establishment of this educational institutiion should be held accountable for the predicaments, the college is incurring.
