They boycotted training on Tuesday following failure by their executive to pay them their dues for September but Malawi24 can confirm that Be Forward Wanderers players have resumed their training sessions at MDC Stadium ahead of their Super League match at home to Wizards FC on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium.

According to information at hand, the players are yet to be paid their allowances and game bonuses for last month and when they asked the executive as to when they will get paid, Team Manager Steve Madeira was sent back empty handed, forcing the players to leave their training base.

And when asked to comment on the matter, Nomads General Secretary Mike Butao said the executive committee is not to blame for the delay in paying the players saying sponsors Be Forward are yet to release money to cater for everything, including the players ‘salaries.

“Our hand are tied because the sponsors are yet to release the funds and when they do, the players will get paid without any problem,” he said.

However, Team Manager Steve Madeira revealed that his players have now resumed training ahead of their league assignment against Wizards FC this weekend.

The Nomads were in Lilongwe over the weekend for their league assignments against Civo Service United and Kamuzu Barracks without team captain Francis Mulimbika who refused to travel with his fellow players in protest for not having his monthly salary paid into his bank account.
