An 18 year-old man has been arrested for wearing a police uniform and impersonating a traffic officer in Mulanje, Malawi24 can report.
The man, Patel Fakawo from Mwineya village, Traditional Authority Nkalo in Chiradzulu was found stopping vehicles at Makande junction along the Mulanje-Midima Road while wearing a Khaki police uniform.
However, some passengers who were in a minibus he had stopped, got surprised to see him wearing red civilian shoes.
So they assisted one another and apprehended him before later handing him over to police officers at Nkando police unit.
Meanwhile, investigations are underway to establish where and how he got the uniform.
