A man has died while two other people have sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred along Salima-Lilongwe road in Dowa district.
The accident involved a Toyota Hilux Twin Cab registration number BN 9260 and another vehicle which is yet to be identified.
Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Richard Kaponda said the accident happened on Thursday night when the Toyota Hilux which was being driven by Mr Frank Bowa was coming from the direction of Salima heading to Lilongwe with three passengers on board.
“Upon reaching at Labvu village, the Hilux hit the rear of the other car which was being driven by an unknown person but had no rear lights,” said Kaponda.
Due to the impact, Bosco Chapita who was one of the passengers in the Hilux sustained injuries and died on the way to Kamuzu Central Hospital.
The other two passengers also suffered injuries and were treated at Mvera Health Centre. The Toyota Hilux got extensively damaged while the other vehicle sped away from the scene of the accident.
