Carlsberg Malawi Limited, sponsors of the Carlsberg Cup have kept their promise to dress semifinalists of this year’s competition.
On Thursday the company raised the tempo ahead of the weekend mouthwatering fixtures with a presentation of high quality uniforms to the four teams battling for the prestigious cup.
Carlsberg presented uniforms to Mighty Be Forward Wanderers, Mafco fc, Mangochi Police and Silver Strikers.
During the symbolic presentation of the jerseys, Football Association of Malawi executive member Daud Mtathiko hailed Carlsberg Malawi for honouring their promise to dress up the four Carlsberg cup finalists.
“We thank Carlsberg for fulfilling their promise by dressing the four teams that have reached this year’s Carlsberg Cup semifinals that will be played this coming weekend,” said Mtathiko.
He added by advising football fans to distance themselves from violence since FAM and Carlsberg cup brands are not associated with violence.
In his remarks Carlsberg Malawi Senior Brands Manager Twikale Chirwa congratulated Mangochi police for reaching this year’s semifinals.
All the four semifinalists received a set of 30 jerseys with the players’ names labelled on the back of the kits.
The first semifinal match will be between cup holders Be Forward Wanderers and Mangochi Police which will be played at Kamuzu stadium on Saturday while Silver Strikers will battle it out with Mafco on Sunday at Civo stadium in the other semifinal clash.
