The news that Richard Mbulu has been banned for the rest of the season has come as a bombshell to Mafco who will face Nyasa Big Bullets without the prolific striker.

The reality of losing their best player midway through the season has likely caused disappointment to Mafco’s fans.

Mbulu has been banned from all football activities organised by Football Association (FAM) and its affiliates for the rest of the season after he was found guilty of taking the leading role in assaulting Nyasa Big Bullets players which is contrary to article 24.12 of the Carlsberg Cup’ rules and regulations.

This means that Mafco will start life without their hitman who has netted more than 30 goals in all competitions for Mafco fc this season when they take on Nyasa Big Bullets on Saturday at Civo stadium in their Carlsberg cup quarterfinal showdown.

Life without Mbulu for Mafco will not be easy since the striker is one of their vital players who has contributed to the club’s good run of form in the league.

Mbulu scored 11 of Mafco’s 29 goals in the just ended 2016 Tnm Super League first round.

Why Mafco needs to plan for life without Mbulu?

Make no mistake about it, Mbulu is a very special player. When motivated he is, quite simply, a phenomenal striker. 11 goals in 15 games confirms his brilliance that’s why Mafco have to make a plan to start life without him.

Despite statistics showing the importance of Mbulu and how much he helped the Salima based soldiers by creating scoring chances and scoring goals for Mafco, his absence cannot be hardly felt if the club replaces him with another natural goalscorer.
