Malawi Police officers hunting for killers of Dowa millionaire

Malawi Police officers in Dowa district have launched a manhunt for thugs who killed a businessman and went away with his millions.

According to the district’s police public relations officer sergeant Richard Kaponda, the armed men killed the businessman and before stealing K10 million late last week at Njati village in the district.

He identified the deceased as Ganizani Salera, a shop owner who hailed from Malata village in the area of Traditional Authority Mwaza in Salima district.

Kaponda said on this fateful day, the criminals went to the deceased’s house heavily armed with guns and Pangas. They later broke into Salera’s house and started beating and hacking the deceased in the presence of his wife.

The criminals then forced the wife to give them money which the couple had made from selling goods at their shop.

After stealing the money from the lady, the criminals left the house.

Later the woman called for help and she got helped by neighbours who took the businessman to Dowa hospital.

Upon reaching the hospital it was then revealed that the man was already dead due to too much loss of blood.
