Malawi’s afro pop singer Chissoh has presented the nation with a hot music product titled Makwacha that has set the local creative industry ablaze.

The afro-pop artist whose real name is Chisomo Zacharia worked with Muhanya and Gule music to come up with the single which happens to be his first release in 2016.

The song has been motivated by his current situation which calls for financial breakthrough as he continues in the demanding journey of dishing music.

Chissoh talks money in his latest single.

He stresses on the importance of money and how its scarcity can take precedence in different actions, in the name of chasing it.

“My new single is all about money. It’s talking about the importance of money and that nobody hates money. I need money and all those girls who sell their bodies it’s all because they want the money,” said.

Visuals for Makwacha are set to hit media outlets by next week. Media Quake was entrusted with shooting the video which is still going through some touches before it is made fully fit for audience consumption.

With a 12 track album that was released when he was signed to an American record label in 2014 under his name, it has been a tough ride for the singer who has overruled plans for another album anytime soon after going solo last year.

However, the overwhelming response to his latest song energises him for future big name collaborations and an album. Working as a solo artist, the 23 year-old has managed to release four singles.

But the Blantyre based artist has lamented over lack of support from the government and the corporate world which he said hinders Malawi music from getting to its promised destination. He added that it is the same veteran musicians who are being supported hence reducing up and coming artists’ chances of making it big.

Chissoh however told Malawi24 that people should expect fireworks from him as he will be making music that satisfies their listening pleasures.
