Centre for Youth and Children Affairs says it will continue advocating for the rights of children to make sure that they enjoy quality health services.
The statement was brought forward by Centre for Youth and Children Affairs Officer for Kasungu District Francis Chiwaya.
Chiwaya made the statement following his offices’ achievement in ending health workers’ malpractice of demanding money from community members to offer under-five clinic services.
He said allowing children to access all health services can help them to become productive and reliable citizens.
He expressed worry that the behaviour has been taking place in the district more especially in the area of Traditional Authorities Kawamba and Nthulana.
“It is true this tendency has been taking place in this district but we have tried everything to curb the situation,” He explained
Chiwaya however added that the depriving of the rights affected the children’s growth since they were lacking good health services.
He promised members of the communities that his office will make sure that children’s rights are respected.
