The arrested student Suzen Chinkhokwe

Malawi Police officers in Nkhotakota district are keeping in custody a 22 year-old student at Nkhotakota College of Education Private Secondary School for having an abortion.

Nkhotakota police public relations officer Williams Kaponda said the suspect, Suzen Chinkhokwe, gave birth to the baby in one of the school’s bathroom.

“Some students were shocked when they went to the bathroom and saw blood in the bathroom and a foetus lying lifeless on the ground,” said Kaponda.

The incident was reported to the school’s matron and she told the police who arrested the suspect.

Health officials confirmed that the girl was recently pregnant and said the foetus was about four months old.

Meanwhile, the suspect is in hospital where she is receiving treatment after a medical examination revealed that she took an overdose of DCN capsules.

Meanwhile she has been charged with the offence of concealing birth of child and is expected to appear in court soon.

The suspect hails from Kalunkhulu village, Senior Traditional Authority Kanyenda in Nkhotakota.

    45. You are right when you say that an entity is either A or B. This means that no entity can have two identities, otherwise it will not be one. The same applies to the foetus. As an entity it is one, it is this oneness (unity) that it possess until old age or the time of death. So, from the moment of conception it is either A or B (not both), it is NOT becoming a human being, but it is just growing as a Human being occupying it’s own space and time.
