Mutharika’s remarks shock MCP

The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has expressed shock over remarks President Peter Mutharika made at the meeting he had with Public Affairs Committee on Thursday in Lilongwe.

Kabwila shocked by APM’s sentiments.

According to MCP spokesperson Jessie Kabwila, what Mutharika said that he does not want to reduce presidential powers and that does not take deadline mean he is not living up to his promises.

“As MCP we were shocked with what the Mutharika said during the meeting with PAC as the president portrayed that he is not living up to his promises,” said Kabwila.

She added that what Mutharika is doing now is contrary to what he promised when he was campaigning during the 2014 tripartite elections.

Kabwila further said Mutharika is an arrogant leader and she urged him to resigns if he cannot stand the heat.
