Yohane Banda, the biological father of Madonna’s adopted son David Banda says the singer is a “bad influence” on the child.
Madonna divorced from Guy Ritchie just months after adopting David from Malawi in 2006 but Banda says he is concerned about the singer’s behaviour since the split.
“What I have heard about Madonna’s lifestyle since her divorce from Guy sounds quite shocking.
“Her having much younger boyfriends isn’t in line with Malawian culture at all. David would not be exposed to that sort of thing here. It’s not how we live. We have strong family values.”
Madonna has also fallen out with her other son Rocco after he refused to continue living with her. The singer is now locked in a public battle over the custody of the 15 year-old with ex-husband Guy.
Banda has since admitted that the row is concerning as he would love to see his son living together with Rocco as brothers.
“I’d like to know what’s going on behind closed doors and why Rocco wanted to leave his mum and live with his dad like that.”
“My children are all very close and have lots of fun together, which is how life should be for brothers and sisters.
“One child living in New York and another in London sounds like an unhappy situation to me,” said Banda
Banda who gave up his child for adoption child while he was seven months-old also expressed worry over the possibility of Guy living with his son saying Madonna’s ex-husband was never interested in adopting the child.
Said Banda: “The only reason I let Madonna adopt David was because she promised me she would give him a good education and then he could come home to live with me.”

Just because he brought his child to an orphanage does not mean the dad was a bad parent. Ive worked at many orphanages in Malawi and there are many parents who bring children to the orphanage because they know their child will get consistent food there. They may make that choice for the betterment and wellbeing of the child. It’s not our job to judge the dad, we don’t know the reason behind his decision to send his son to the orphanage.
