Ephesians 6 : 14-15 ” Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace…”
Clothes are the representation of honor, strength and position or duty.Psalms 93 : 1 ” THE LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is robed, He has girded Himself with strength and power; the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.” In the same way, there is spiritual clothing which represent the honor, strength, position and our duty in the spiritual realm. In Ephesians 6:13-17 we see a number of spiritual clothing lined up for each believers.
As you move in levels in Christian walk, remove the old garments. Remove the old habit, old way of life and put on the new. At each level take on new clothes of honor and glory. Adopt new way of life. Accept to be recultured by the Word of God. Adopt new ways of doing things. Move from glory to glory and this can be done through the Word of God. Remove and prune your life to make yourself usable at the next level. You cant go to the next level with the same way of life at lower level. That is why in some jobs they will give you a new clothing as you move in ranks.
Remember Joseph, as he was moving out of native land to Egypt he lost his old clothes, those that were dipped in blood and shown to his father. It was symbolic that he had passed to another level. Then when he was going to prison, he lost another cloth which Potiphar’s wife showed the husband. Symbol of another level. When he was appearing to Pharaoh to interpret dreams, he lost the prison clothes and was given new ones. Another symbol of change of level. As He moved in levels he left the old life and glory and manner of life and adopted the new way of life. He was getting new culture.
Blind Bartimaeus , when he was called by Jesus to receive his sight, he threw away the old beggarly garment. The garment that symbolised his blindness was removed and he started anew as a man who was able to see. He was recultured so that he could maintain his sight. Mark 10 : 50 ” And throwing off his outer garment, he leaped up and came to Jesus.”
Start a new by putting on new spiritual clothing. Get recultured by the Word. Leave the old and see yourself a new(2 Cor 5:17). Otherwise you can’t stay at the next level with the old way of doing things. New level needs new ways. No new wine in old wineskins.
Confession
I remove the old and I now take on new spiritual clothing as I move from level of glory to another. I get the new heavenly culture through the Word of God .In Jesus Name. Amen.
