This is after students were protesting the college’s decision to hike fees from K650,000 to K1.8 million.

“We have been struggling to pay the K650,000 and now the fees has been hiked up to K1.8 million so I don’t think most of the students will afford to pay a huge amount like that,” said one of the concerned students.

According to the university’s management, the fees has been raised due to the devaluation of Kwacha which has affected price of items on the market.

Meanwhile, the students have been ordered to leave the university campus.

But the closure of the institution is expected to affect Daeyang Luke hospital since medical students at the university conduct practical lessons at the hospital thereby increasing the number of health workers at the health facility.
