‘Be gone by May!’ Kamlepo orders Mutharika to resign

Kamlepo gives Mutharika a 3-month grace period

Malawi President Peter Mutharika has until May to leave the seat of Presidency, MP Kamlepo Kalua has said.

Making contribution on behalf of the People’s Party (PP), Kamlepo said the party was giving Mutharika an ultimatum of 90 days in which he should quit and handover power to a caretaker government.

Kamlepo said Mutharika had failed the country and, therefore, he had to resign.

Citing the chaotic economy and the current hunger situation, Kamlepo concluded by saying that Mutharika should handover power to a transitional government.

In 2011, President Peter Mutharika’s brother Bingu wa Mutharika was given an ultimatum to resign and he died within that period.

    3. I didn’t mention Kamlepo or any political leader. But i just wrote from what i saw on comments and politics in general but not that much. But can you compare Rwanda to Malawi isn’t it a landlocked country? I have nothing to write against any political leader.

    4. Jose Tchoxy I was in Rwanda 10 month ago, and am going again in June . The secret is after war they had a lot of donors to recover their economy, imagine why Burundi , Somalia etc are still struggling? Do you know why?

    5. We have to take good examples and ask ourselves “why not us” for many years more than 50 years our country has been depending on donations then whom should we blame for this. Yet we have made a great step of changing political parties MCP,UDF and DPP but things are becoming worse even donors have reached an extent of giving up on our country. What more or good can we expect from the people we trust to lead us? Almost all African countries have that syndrome of donation dependancy but through that we vary. Then should we say some other countries have favour from the donors? I don’t have a picture kabisa.

This time we have maize and economic crisis, the water is on the veranda of which if we had people with vision we would have used it to produce food throughout the year. So many things that can boost our economy from within.

PA also sold to Zim on credit…. Economy as of now hav affected the whole africa. It’s not easy to bounce back… We just need to focus on cutting expenditure so far. And create more ways of income taxi.

      About water body we have, so far government can’t afford to introduce free irrigation. It will waist of money bcoz Malawians (black people in general)they don’t know farming business. During my 5 countries tour holiday in last December, I noticed that it’s only in Zambia they got black commercial farmers. Although they also bought from white peoples.

      Imagine, South Africa is the biggest maize farming country in Africa but theirs no black farmer, Zimbabwe used to be the best maize farming country before they chased white farmers. Thinking they can do it, but they failed….

      It’s not easy, we just need to pray that one day Malawi will get a president who know economic, a president who have once worked in big company as CEO… Then we can change Malawi, not any politician, more especially these recycled politicians

Mr Fletcher Uchie Kalunje, for sure it is along way to go we have almost blamed every government for poor governance but we as citizens we have never stood to say, we are behind all these problems. In the years of forties the economy of Kenya and Korea was almost the same but now these two countries you can not compare them. It was through the citizens who decided to bring the country among the strongest country in the world. They kept sheep and they set goals now is no longer the same as Kenya. China till today they are everywhere across the world and you know how hard they work till they brought their country to where it is. America, a kid grows with the mind of what to do to help the country. So many vivid examples but a Malawian kid has that mind of getting things from the government. People have to be taught to be the machinery to the government. I believe once we learn to help government through leaders who have vision with Malawi, we shall be able to stabilize the economy from within.
