George Chamangwana’s led executive committee was given a new mandate on Saturday morning during Mighty Wanderers polls at Lali Luban.

Surprisingly, Chamangwana, general secretary Mike Butao, Allan Chuma and Chulu Nkangama went unopposed.

George Chamangwana; Went unopposed.

This is contrary to what was happening last year when some sections of the team’s supporters demanded for the resignation of Chamangwana and Butao following Wanderers’ poor run of form in the Super League which saw the club failing to register victories in the opening second round games.

Nevertheless, the pair were re-elected unoppossed, giving them another two year term of office.

Before the polls, Nomads trustee Rashid Gaffar made it clear that he wanted the current executive committee to continue serving the club saying it has done extremely well during the first two years.

The highly contested position was that of vice chairman which saw former Super League of Malawi (Sulom) vice president Gift Mkandawire beating former Wanderers general secretary Chipiliro Mpinganjira with 410 votes against 124.

Allan Chuma was ushered in as second vice president unopposed whilst Christopher Kananji retained his vice general secretary seat in style by registering 428 votes against Vincent Patel and Duncan Kamwendo’s 80 and 11 votes respectively.

Davies Msadala was voted treasurer after registering 485 votes against Wisdom Malunga’s 23 votes.

On the position of vice treasurer, Nkangama won unopposed. Onani Chaponda, Hendrix Chabwera, Duncan Jumbe, Flora Nkusankhoma and Suzgo Ngwira were voted in as executive committe members.
