Malawi super league powerhouse Big Bullets have been engulfed in some  disputes as there is a disagreement as to how much loans the club has to give back.

On Saturday, the club’s vice general secretary Kelvin Moyo told some of the local media houses that the club has plans to release a statement in one of the country’s newspapers to show how much money the club needs to give back.

Moyo said as of now, the peoples’ team owes over K80 million, a claim that has been refuted by the former chairman of the club, Kondie Msungama.

Msungama has a different figure.

Msungama said as he was being chased away some months ago, he left a loan amounting to K18 million and he is wondering if it could be possible that within 3 to 4 months the loan has risen to over K80 million.

“I said I am open to give information to everyone who wishes as I am having  detailed information of how much loan the club need to give back.

“By the time I and some of my friends were being chased away, we had a debt of K18 million and I don’t know if what I am hearing now is true,” said Msungama.

He added that he knows that the loan got hiked as the team hosted the Sudanese club Al Hilal in the CAF championship but he says the loan could not have reached K80 million.

“Being honest it can’t reach that said amount and for sure if it was so, we could have constructed our own stadium,” said the former chairperson.

In late August this year TNM wrote off Bullets’ MK10.3 million debt, a development that made them breathe a sigh of relief.
