On Saturday night at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, one voice, two names, and a journey of transformation will come alive on stage as Armstrong Kalua, now performing as Onesimus, headlines ‘The Never Ending Battle 2026’ backed by a K5 million boost from National Bank of Malawi plc.

Kalua first rose to prominence under the name Armstrong as a secular musician, building a strong following with his energetic sound and performances. His later transition into gospel music marked a turning point in his life, leading to the adoption of the name Onesimus.

Rather than a contest between two separate artists, The Never Ending Battle 2026 has been designed to creatively showcase the personal and musical evolution of one man.

NBM’s Product Development and Strategy Manager, Ibrahim Chapeyama said the sponsorship reflects the bank’s belief in the power of local talent and its commitment to uplifting Malawi’s creative economy.

“As a Bank, we believe excellence begins with support. This is more than just a concert, it is a meeting point between nostalgic musical influence and the present generation,” said Chapeyama.

Beyond financial backing, the bank is also creating opportunities for fans to be part of the experience through a digital competition dubbed ‘Mo Excellence Ticket Giveaway – Onesimus vs Armstrong’.

Chapeyama explained that members of the public can participate by following and liking the bank’s Facebook page and sharing what Mo Excellence means to them.

“The most liked responses will each win a standard ticket to the show,” he said, adding that the initiative is designed to deepen customer engagement while championing Malawi’s entertainment sector.

Marketing Manager for Onesimus, Mcleana Kalua, welcomed the partnership, describing it as a strong vote of confidence from the corporate world.

“We are delighted that a leading bank is standing with the music industry. I can confirm that Onesimus is fully prepared to give Malawians an unforgettable experience on Saturday night,” said Kalua.
