Barely a month after slashing fuel pump prices, Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has announced new prices.
Through a statement, MERA has disclosed that effective today, petrol is to be sold at K868.00 while diesel is at K874.00 per litre. Paraffin is now at K710.00 per litre.
The downward trend of fuel pump prices on the International level is reported to be the driving force behind the slash of pump prices in Malawi.
Last year MERA adjusted fuel prices upwards arguing the country purchased fuel at high price, a development that was criticized by citizens.
A month later MERA slashed the pump prices arguing the country had started importing cheap fuel.
Thats not enough,we need the price of everyday needs to go down aswell, thanks for the decrease but sorry we are not satisfied
