Malawi Police have arrested three people in connection to the killing of a person with albinism in Nkhata-Bay.
The three are suspected to have murdered 54-year-old Yasin Phiri at his home in Nkhata-Bay on New Year’s Eve.
Police in the district have identified the suspects as Fransis Chipateni Kaluwa aged 37 of Makowola Traditional Authority Zilakoma, Ceaser Banda aged 31 of Kauta Village Traditional Authority Fukamapiri and Lawrence Theu aged 32 of Makokola village Traditional Authority Zilakoma in Nkhatabay.
The law enforcers are also hunting for another suspect who is believed to be in possession of the chopped arms of the man with albinism.
The murder of Phiri at his house has been condemned with some quarters accusing government of failing to implement measures that will deal with the attacks.
