Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc) has said farmers are satisfied with the buying price for maize which is K170 per Kilogram in the country’s Admarc depots.

Speaking to local media, public relations officer for Admarc Agnes Ndovie said farmers have accepted the price and it seems that they have no problems with it.

She explained that the exercise of buying maize from small scale farmers in parts of the country is also going well.

“The process of buying the maize is progressing well because farmers are satisfied with the current price,” she said.
According to Ndovie, they are expected to buy between 20 and 30 metric tonnes of maize from farmers across the country.

Ndovie added that Admarc is looking forward to buying more maize from the farmers and expressed hope that this will happen as they have full faith in themselves as well as the farmers.

The Admarc public relations officer however expressed concern over some middlemen and traders whom she said are duping farmers that they work for the corporation.
