Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation (MBC) on Friday donated K5 million to Federation of Disability Organisations in Malawi (Fedoma).
The money was donated during MBC Innovation awards which were held at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
Speaking during the event, MBC Director General Aubrey Sumbuleta said the donation was part of their corporate social responsibility.
He added that the public broadcaster set up a fund to assist people with disability and the money was taken from the fund.
According to him, they know that the K5 million donation will not end the challenges Fedoma face but they felt it is a starting point.
The MBC boss then asked the general public to work hand in hand with the organisation in supporting persons with disability.
